Our youth ministry partners with Amor Ministries and the Southeastern California Conference in building homes for families in Mexico.
Youth and parents have spent time during Thanksgiving vacation building homes for needy families in Mexico. In the past three years, 10 homes have been built. The next trip is November 19-24, 2008. The trip involves the building of a simple home – concrete floor, wood frame and stucco walls and a roof. Two windows and a door are included. The home is completed in about 3 ½ days and then a dedication ceremony takes place. The dedication is a very touching experience as we observe the thankfulness and appreciation of the families. On Sabbath during the trip, a VBS-style outreach program is run in the village or colonia where we are building. This is definitely a trip worth your consideration.
